Yantai University (Yantai University, Yantai University for short) was founded in July 1984, located in Yantai City, Shandong Province. It is a key comprehensive University in Shandong Province. It is a coastal University closest to the sea and with the longest coastline in China. It is also the Ministry of Education’s Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Plan, Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan, and the key construction university of Shandong Characteristic Elite School Project. Under the care and guidance of former vice premier wanli of The State Council and honorary president zhang chengxian, with the special approval of the former state education commission, Peking university and tsinghua university jointly selected teaching, scientific research and management backbone to support the university, the support for the university has been included in the long-term work plan. In 1990, the “Construction Committee of Peking University and Tsinghua University to Support Yantai University” was established. At present, the university has 22 schools (departments), 65 research institutes and 66 undergraduate programs, covering 10 disciplines such as liberal arts, science, engineering, law, agriculture, medicine, economics, management, education and art. The university covers an area of 1.4 million square meters, with a building area of 1,019,800 square meters. Currently, it has “the Doctoral Talents Training Program to Serve the National Special Needs”, 21 first-level disciplines authorized for master’s degrees,7 categories authorized for master’s professional degrees, and 142 second-level disciplines authorized for master’s degrees.
